Information Theoretical Analysis of Identification based on Active Content Fingerprinting
نویسندگان
چکیده
Content fingerprinting and digital watermarking are techniques that are used for content protection and distribution monitoring. Over the past few years, both techniques have been well studied and their shortcomings understood. Recently, a new content fingerprinting scheme called active content fingerprinting was introduced to overcome these shortcomings. Active content fingerprinting aims to modify a content to extract robuster fingerprints than the conventional content fingerprinting. Moreover, contrary to digital watermarking, active content fingerprinting does not embed any message independent of contents thus does not face host interference. The main goal of this paper is to analyze fundamental limits of active content fingerprinting in an information theoretical framework.

Fingerprinting of some Egyptian rice genotypes using Intron-exon Splice Junctions (ISJ) markers
DNA fingerprinting has become an important tool for diversity assessment and varietal identification in plant breeding programs. Semi- random PCR primers targeting intron-exon splice junctions (ISJ) were used to evaluate the potential of these markers in identification and classification of rice genotypes. A total of 12 ISJ primers were used for screening fourteen Egyptian rice genotypes, inclu...
متن کاملContent-Identification: towards Capacity Based on Bounded Distance Decoder
In recent years, content identification based on digital fingerprinting attracts a lot of attention in different emerging applications. In this paper, we perform the information–theoretic analysis of finite length digital fingerprinting systems. We show that the identification capacity over the Binary Symmetric Channel (BSC) is achievable by using Bounded Distance Decoder (BDD).
متن کاملTheoretical Modeling and Analysis of Content Fingerprinting
Multimedia identification via content fingerprints is used in many applications, such as content filtering on usergenerated content websites, automatic multimedia identification and tagging. A compact “fingerprint” is computed for each multimedia signal that captures robust and unique properties of the perceptual content, which is used for identifying the multimedia. Several different multimedi...
متن کاملA framework for theoretical analysis of content fingerprinting
The popularity of video sharing platforms such as Youtube has prompted the need for the development of efficient techniques for multimedia identification. Content fingerprinting is a promising solution for this problem, whereby a short “fingerprint” that captures robust and unique characteristics of a signal is computed from each multimedia document. This fingerprint is then compared with a dat...
متن کاملTrading-off performance and complexity in identification problem
In this paper, we consider an information-theoretic formulation of the content identification under search complexity constrain. The proposed framework is based on soft fingerprinting, i.e., joint consideration of sign and magnitude of fingerprint coefficients. The fingerprint magnitude is analyzed in the scope of communications with side information that results in channel decomposition, where...
